Adult Ski Programs @ Nakkertok

Nakkertok is famous for our young athlete ski programs but we also have lots to offer adults!

If you are new to cross country skiing, Nakkertok offers adult learn-to-ski classes on Saturday mornings and afternoons, and Sunday afternoons. These ski classes are ideal for anyone new to the sport of cross country skiing. The main technique of instructions is classic skiing. Registration for these classes is done via Zone 4.

For more experienced skiers who want an opportunity to stay ‘fit for life’, increase physical fitness, and develop better skate and classic technique, we offer the Ski4Life program. Ski4Life is for novice and intermediate skiers with basic skills in both classic and skate technique. The program includes both a dryland and an on-snow component. Members can register for one or the other, or both. Both components focus on improving fitness and ski technique through a combination of formal instruction and opportunities to put what participants learn into action. Two sessions are available: Tuesday evenings or Wednesday afternoons. Dryland training runs from mid-September through the end of November and the on-snow component runs from January to early March.

This year Nakkertok is also introducing a new opportunity: Adult Technique Workshops for adults who want to improve their skiing technique. The Adult Technique Workshops are for intermediate to advanced skiers who are experienced with both skate and classic technique. The series of 7 workshops will focus on specific drills and coaching to improve the participants’ skiing ability. The workshops will be held on Thursday evenings. Contact info@nakkertok.ca if you would like to register.

Finally, Nakkertok is also offering private and semi-private lessons for adult members. If you would like to schedule a private lesson please contact info@nakkertok.ca for details.

Nakkertok has a lot to offer everyone. We hope our adult members will take advantage of these programs.
