We are pleased to announce that Katherine Denis has joined our fulltime coaching staff and will be coaching our ENRG program, (U23) athletes. Originally from Timiskaming, Katherine has raced with the Nakkertok program for 6 years, competing at the NorAm level and representing Canada at the 2019 Winter World University Games in Krasnoyark, Russia as part of the uOttawa Nordiq program. Katherine has a BSc. from the University of Ottawa in Human Kinetics and is in the process of completing her L2C coaching certification.

Katherine has been coaching part time with the Nakkertok program for the last few years and will take over the ENRG program from Camille Cheskey, who moves on to be a coach with the National Training Centre (CNEPH), in Quebec City.

When asked for advice regarding how to achieve skiing success, Katherine provided the following quote:

“You have to do all the work and you have to be brave enough to put yourself out there… and sometimes a lightning bolt is going to strike from the heavens and it’s going to work out and sometimes it’s just going to be one of those days that it doesn’t work, but if you’re not willing to put yourself out there and put yourself in a position to be great, you’re never going to be great. – Molly Seidel “
