Since 1971 Nakkertok has developed young athletes for participation in local, Provincial, National and International competitions. We actively invest our program resources to ensure that we support our athletes in achieving their personal goals. We focus our investment on having professional coaching staff, developing and training our volunteer coaches, providing a broad set of athlete development services, and creating training and racing opportunities with the needed technical support.
Over the past couple of years Nakkertok athletes have competed at the World Championships, Olympics, World Junior Championships, and the World University Games. Through the performances of our athletes, we as a club have enjoyed success at the Canadian National Championships, the Quebec Cup and the Ontario Cup. We currently have several athletes who: are national champions; are on national teams, are at national development centres; are on the Quebec and Ontario teams.
This success would not have happened without our coaches. We currently have three staff coaches, and over thirty volunteer coaches some of whom have over 20 years coaching experience.
Our four core racing programs fully align with Cross Country Canada’s long term athlete development model and offer some options depending on the age of the skier. The program descriptions can be found below.
Finally, many thanks to our very generous sponsors the National Winter Sports Association and Ski de Fond Québec. Their contributions help us to continue to offer full-time coaching positions, our part-time coaching positions and to develop both new and volunteer coaches, Thank you!
