Nakkertok Board of Directors is seeking individuals to join the Nakkertok board. The Nakkertok board is responsible for the overall operation and mission of the club so it provides a unique opportunity to participate in the success of the club.
There are 5 positions open that will be elected at the annual general meeting on October 26. Each position is a 2 year term with an option to renew for another term. Each board member is expected to attend monthly board meetings and perform duties associated with each role.
Open Roles
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for the general financial oversight of the Club, including financial planning, budgeting and reporting., and is a member of the Executive Committee. The Treasurer oversees the activities of the Club’s paid bookkeeper, and is responsible for managing the Club’s annual financial audit process, including working with the Club’s external auditors (currently Deloitte LLP).
The position has a time commitment of approximately 10 hours per month, including participating in Board meetings. Time commitments driven by the audit cycle may exceed this amount.
The Treasurer will ideally have a CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation or significant financial and accounting experience.
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of the Board meetings and maintaining the corporate records, and is a member of the Executive Committee. The position has a time commitment of approximately 5 hours per month, including participating in the Board meeting.
Sponsorship
Corporate sponsorships are an important source of revenue for the club. The Sponsorship director is responsible for maintaining the relationship with our current sponsors and recruiting new sponsors. The position has a time commitment of approximately 5 hours per month, including participating in the Board meeting.
Race Program Liaison
The Race Program Liaison acts as the liaison between the Nakkertok Race Committee and the Nakkertok Board. This individuals attends the monthly board meeting and race committee meetings. The Race Program Liaison should be an individual with children active in the Nakkertok Race Program.
Nakkertok North Liaison
The Nakkertok North Liaison represents the interests and activities associated with Nakkertok North. The ideal individual will be active in Nakkertok North.
Nominations for these roles will close on October 11. The elections for the Board of Directors will be held October 26 at the Annual General Meeting.
