Race format

The race is a timed event in which participants complete as many loops of the race course as possible within a prescribed time limit.

Racers in the 3, 6 and 12 hour races will complete as many laps as they are able to within the time period. Racers will be allowed to leave on a last loop anytime before the time is up (so a runner in the 3 hour race could leave for a last loop up until the 2 hour 59 minute mark).

We are also offering the option to do a one-loop ‘try a trail’ fun run for people who want just a small taste of adventure.

Race course

All races take place on a 5.9km loop that starts/ends next to the soccer field. The course includes a mix of non-technical trail (around 3.2km) and technical terrain (around 2.7km) and includes around 266m of elevation gain.

The first 1.6km are on easy rolling terrain. Then runners enter more technical terrain and start the biggest climb in the race, which involves 130m of elevation gain over a distance of 800m. , The biggest climb in the race starts at around the 2km mark. Racers follow a flowing, technical single track for another 1.2km before starting a technical descent of around 90m over a distance of 700m including some switchbacks and some rocky and likely wet sections. The remaining 1.6km includes a final climb and descent on non-technical trail.
