Where to Ski in Ottawa-Gatineau

Apart from the Nakkertoks, of course. The Ottawa – Gatineau area is blessed with many options for cross country skiing.

Many of the trails are free to use but are maintained by volunteer clubs or groups. Please support those you use through donations or trail fees. You can find how to donate through the individual websites.

Trail conditions

  • Nordic Pulse: Current conditions as reported by the trail groomers themselves on community trails and some local clubs
  • Gatineau Park: Trail conditions: updated at 8am and noon during ski season. Also: Parking lot status
  • XC Ottawa: trail conditions as reported anecdotally by skiers

Ottawa’s urban winter trails do not charge trail fees but depend largely on donations. All are groomed for classic skiing. Those that maintain skate trails have green icons.
