Nakkertrak Rules
We hope you enjoy your ski! For the safety and enjoyment of all please follow the Nakkertrak rules.
- Skiers with membership or day pass ONLY. Skiers must have a membership or day pass to use the Nakkertrak. Purchase your Day Pass here. Please have your receipt available for the attendant. If no attendant is available and you haven’t paid online, please deposit your payment in the yellow lock box at the tunnel entrance.
- Access to the Trak is through the tunnel by the chalet, unless specifically indicated. Please pay attention to access signage, as it can change. Skis are to be put on in the “v board corral” across the trak from the tunnel.
- Respect the Nakkertrak Schedule (available @Nakkertrak Calendar). The Nakkertrak has restricted and open use times. Individual skiers are not permitted on the loop during restricted/reserved times. Depending on snow conditions, sectional bookings may allow Group or individual access to areas of the course. Check the calendar and Nordic Pulse before you leave to ski to see if restricted times have been released for open access, if there are cancellation notices and check snow conditions.
- Respect Loop closures. There may be times when the loop closes to ensure skier safety. Where possible, we will decide the night before, or generally by 7:30AM the morning of, and 7AM on weekends. Please check Nordic Pulse) for conditions and closure notices before you go. The schedule is also updated frequently. We will inform booked groups by email. In case of possibly marginal conditions, contact by email beforehand: nakkertrak.coordinator@nakkertok.ca.
- Keep the Nakkertrak Snow Clean! If trail access is muddy, use the carpeted walkway and put your ski boots on at the chalet. Clean your boots BEFORE stepping onto the loop. There are boot cleaners at the entrance to the chalet. If you must walk while on trail, do so on the edges of the trail, or use another route with no snow, to reach your destination.
- No walking, snowshoeing or biking on the loop.
- Trak SAFETY. Stay away from hydrants and snow guns EVEN IF NOT IN USE. The equipment uses high pressure air and water and can only be used by trained operators.
Stay on the Loop. Do not use trails/areas marked off by tape or similar signage: equipment may be operating here or the trails may lack sufficient snow for safe skiing.- Ski on sections that are suited to your ability. See the map above.
- Follow Skier Etiquette. Ski in the same direction as others, obey directional signs and the trail attendants instructions. Signage and directions may vary from session to session, be prepared.
- Last People Leaving the parking lot should lock the chalet, and if possible the gate access down the lane way. Check at the garage, just behind the clubhouse/chalet, to see if Trails staff are still in attendance.
USERS NOT FOLLOWING THE ABOVE RULES CAN LOSE THEIR TRAIL PRIVILEGES FOR THE DAY AND OR SEASON.
