Dear Nakkertok Members,
We are writing to share with you the tragic news that long-time Nakkertok Member Cheemun Lum passed away suddenly this weekend while participating in the Canadian Ski Marathon. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Cheemun’s family and we wish Nancy, Nicolas and Emilie strength during this difficult time.
Cheemun was a kind, talented and well respected individual who many of us were fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know through Nakkertok. His work as a physician had a huge impact on many lives in Ottawa (http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/pioneering-ottawa-doctor-dies-of-cardiac-arrest-so-many-people-owe-their-lives-to-him). He was also a tremendous contributor to Nakkertok, supporting the Club in many ways and, as a physician, often offering his services to Nakkertok trips and programs. Cheemun was a positive and committed person – always willing to help and always doing so with a smile. His passing is a significant loss for our community and he will be greatly missed.
